Catching up...

I haven't written in a while so here's a try at catching up...

New route: This morning it was very hot (for running) by 7:30a when I went out. It was dark and raining on my way to work and sunny and warm again this afternoon. I wasn't in the mood to run in the rain so if that rain had come earlier I might have skipped it. My heart rate stayed pretty low this morning, I felt like I was taking it pretty easy, this was one just to get over with.

6 miles: that was the distance for last Saturday. It was an ugly run (this seems to be true for many of my team mates as well). Part of the problem was that the route had to be adjusted because of all the rain on Friday night. It was HOT! There were a lot of decision points and intersections in the paths so we stopped to think about where we were supposed to be going. We all finished and it's on th 7 miles this Saturday.

5 X 5: the hardest I've run in quite some time. We had to do five 5-min runs followed by a 5-min rest. Each 5-min run was supposed to be at a pace that would take you about 20 yards further than the previous run. I did pretty good upping my pace for the 2nd through 4th. After the fourth I didn't think I had much left in me. For the 5th I decided to try the first 400 meters at pace but not worry about the rest. I ended up about where I was on the 4th.

5 miles: The second time around I went a little slower than the first one. I don't really remember why.
