0:12:33 per mile

That's the magic number for me to run a personal best time. It will get me a chip time of just under 5:30. I think it is doable. We have been training at the upper 11 and lower 12 minute per mile pace. We will have to concieously remember to slow it down in the beginning so we have something left to run on at the end.

The 20-mile run (like the 16-mile) saw us starting off very well and having to walk a lot more at the end. The recovery from the 20 miler was pretty easy. I think the cold soak and the Endurox is helping in that area. The Endurox doesn't seem to matter at shorter distances but after a really long run it does seem to ease the pain.

We have been walking 1 minute for every 8 minutes of running. I'm not sure if we will decide to make that 1:6 or leave it at 8. Maybe we'll start at 1:6 to slow us down early and change to 1:8 later in the marathon.
